Monarch Butterfly
The Monarch Butterfly like many other creatures is highly sensitive to the health of the environment. Richmond Plains sponsors the Monarch Butterfly Trust to highlight the importance of caring for our environment. The Monarch symbolises the care we take in making our wines organically.
Visit www.monarch.org.nz to see how you can help this beautiful butterfly.
Blanc de Noir
That's right - "White from Black." This is a very exciting new wine. Specially selected Pinot Noir grapes are gently pressed to squeeze out the juice and then fermented in stainless steel tanks just like white wine. What does it taste like?... Aromatic with citrus blossom, green pear and biscuit characters on the nose. Full and fruity with attractive pear, baked apple and nectarine flavours. It has very attractive tropical and lime blossom characters with an exotic spicy finish. - Delicious!
Syrah is Coming!
We will be picking our first commercial crop of Nelson Syrah from Bill and Theresa Terry's certified organic Claybank vineyard in 2008. Claybank is a steep, terraced vineyard which produces concentrated Syrah fruit that will make superb wine. One to look out for when it's released.
Admiral Sailing by.
The Admiral is a beautiful butterfly like the Monarch which we have christened our new red wine blend. This new release is a soft easy drinking red wine. Great on its own or with pizza or pasta dishes - sure to please.
