Nelson Chardonnay 2008

The Nelson region has established a strong reputation for this classic variety producing many top award winning wines.  The Richmond Plains chardonnay is an elegant wine made with a very light oak influence to showcase the fresh fruity flavours.  It can be enjoyed on its own or with a wide variety of dishes.  It’s particularly good with seafood and white meat dishes.

All Richmond Plains grapes are grown on our own vineyard. Both the growing of our grapes and winemaking are certified organic by BioGro New Zealand.

Nose: Attractive white peach, nectarine and citrus aromas.

Palate: Fresh fruity flavours of white peaches, nectarines and stonefruit with a minerally background and a subtle touch of oak.

Vegan: This wine is suitable for vegan diets.

Viticulture: Fruit for the Chardonnay is grown on vertical shoot position trellis and handpicked to ensure only the best fruit is harvested.

Winemaking: After pressing the grapes, the juice was transferred to tank for fermentation at cool temperatures with small amounts of oak added.

Alcohol: 13%    Acidity: 6.5 g/L    Residual sugar: 1.3 g/L
